if you're selling them for 30 each, you're getting ripped off . .. I've seen people selling a lot of Wintersday gifts for 1k each so you should be able to find buyers easily at around the 150 g each price range.
5 of them = 1 wintersday gift
Possible prizes:
2 Spiked Eggnogs
2 Eggnogs
2 Fruitcakes
2 Snowman Summoners
1 Peppermint Candy Cane
1 Wintergreen Candy Cane
1 Rainbow Candy Cane
10 Candy Cane Shards.
the fruitcakes and snowman summoners are the only ones that you'll lose money (unless you wait a bit and sell them later on). Spiked Eggnogs each count for 3 minutes to the drunkard title so equivalent cost from a merchant would be 600 gold. Eggnogs = 1 min so equivalent cost is 200. In the past, the Peppermint Candy Canes sold for about 1k each and the new candy cane prices haven't settled down yet.

2 Spiked Eggnogs 700g
2 Eggnogs 300g
2 Fruitcakes 100g
2 Snowman Summoners 100g
1 Peppermint Candy Cane 1200-1500
1 Wintergreen Candy Cane 250-300
1 Rainbow Candy Cane 1000
10 Candy Cane Shards. 2x gifts
considering everything the correct value of gifts with these prices is 400-450, which means shards should go fot 70-80.
selling for 30 is wasting money

Save them for next year. Look for the thread where someone claimed to spend a million gold on shards before the event started. Chances are there will be someone just as stooooopid next year.

Hmm...
In order to know his profit margin you would need to know what he purchased each shard at to do the math. If he bought 5 shards (for example) at 200k each, well that would be one present.
Obviously he didn't buy them at that price, but there is no way to know his profit without knowing his costs. Random guessing of potential profits is ftl.
And somewhere in your equation, factor in time of selling X number of Wintersday gifts. After spamming and posting until his eyes bleed, he certainly could turn a profit. Worth it? Well that is entirely up to the individual!
And to the OP - I would trade them in for gifts to use for myself. If you do decide to sell the contents, hold on to them for a month or 3 so supply settles down a bit.

Well in a now deleted thread he stated he had spent 1 million gold on 20,000shards. That gives you an avarage cost of 50g per shard and 250 per present. So I did know how much he paid for them. Not knowing what you talking about before posting FTL.
Why bother spaming just put up a few auctions on GWG and go play the game. Once again. Not knowing what you talking about before posting FTL.

Actually the only thing missing from your original post then was the detail you so lovingly offer in this latest update. The rest of the forum cannot be expected to search for some "previously deleted" post that states his cost, and your original posting had no detail whatsoever regarding those costs. You threw out numbers as facts without any verification or background information, and expected us to all believe your numbers simply "because Spikey said so!"?
An inherent issue with forum users is the assumption that everyone can see inside their head to know exactly what they are trying to convey in written text. This is exacerbated by people with poor spelling or grammar, making it sometimes difficult for the average reader to automatically believe everything written by those people without any supporting facts. See your above posts for perfect examples, please.
No offense was intended by my original post, my apologies if my intentions were misconstrued.
Back on topic:
I seem to be having a run of fruitcakes in my presents! Of the last 20 I opened, 13 had fruitcakes. Anyone in need of a sugar rush, I've got your fix!

Well caleb IF your going to comment on a topic then you should of at least READ the post or posts to which it refers. If you have'nt then you should'nt make comments on it. I was'nt assuming anything. I also was'nt expecting anyone to belive me. Futher more I don't care if they do or not.
